Harvest Activities in Georgia

Hello, hello!

We have spent the past 4 days enjoying a long Columbus Day Weekend with a visit from the grandparents! My kids have been ecstatic to get some special time with grandma and grandpa!

One of our traditions with this set of grandparents is to visit a pumpkin patch. I was worried that we’d miss out on that this year, but they were so gracious to fly out here during the month of October!

On Saturday we headed out of the city to Washington Farms. Earlier this year we purchased the best strawberries to make freezer jam with there, but this was our first time partaking in all of the fun, farm activities.

I’m not sure what a giant bounce pillow has to do with farms, but I want one in my backyard. Stat!

They also had pig races and a giant maze. There were kids with fierce expressions. Oh, wait. That one is mine.

There was the ridiculously popular cow train. There were also slides, a bouncy house, a go-cart/tricycle track, a pirate ship and other fun activities.

My kids devoured the homemade ice cream. They loved the “carnival” type games like bean bag toss. One of the big highlights was the Vortex Tunnel, which was fun and super trippy. I wanted to see how they DIYed it, but perhaps another time! It was also a great shelter during the brief rainstorm.

I’m a little envious of how cool my son can look sitting in a 50-gallon drum painted to look like a cow. Strike a pose!

Washington Farms does have an actual pumpkin patch where you can clip your pumpkin off the vine. And if you didn’t have enough photo ops, the field of sunflowers is magnificent right now.

We had an awesome time at Washington Farms. In fact, we had so much fun, we brought a lot of corn kernels home in our pants! 🙂

Harvest time makes me ridiculously happy! I love the special memories we are creating with our family and the sights, sounds and tastes of fall are icing on the cake.
