Halloween Mantel That Will Transition Into Thanksgiving

Last week I briefly explained that I enjoy the festivities of Halloween, but I’m not super into decorating for the holiday. However, I do a little to keep my kids happy.

I do like decorating with pumpkins, mums and other items that give me all the fall feelings and a big bang for the buck by easily transitioning from Halloween into Thanksgiving.

This fireplace is in our piano room and it’s hard to tell from the pictures, but it is a big one! The mantel is about 5-feet off the ground. The piano is directly to the right of the fireplace.

I used black card stock – again – on my mantel with some crows and a mouse.

As soon as Halloween is over I will take down the cinnamon brooms and the card stock cut-outs and in approximately 2 seconds this mantel will be ready for Thanksgiving.

If only Thanksgiving dinner would be ready that fast!

We all know how fast it gets eaten.

Special thanks to Handy Husband for taking these photos in a room with almost zero natural light.

What was I doing?

I’m so glad you asked.

I was holding a mattress (yes, a mattress!) upright blocking the weird glare coming in from the one window in the room. Why a mattress? Well, we just bought a mattress-in-a-box and it was plumping up in the living room and hence, the most available thing to help us block the weird glare.

It made sense at the time.

Aren’t you happy to learn about how glamorous blogging is I transition my mantel from Halloween to Thanksgiving?

That’s why I’m here.
