Happy List: #96

It’s Black Friday, so I’m not sure anyone’s going to be reading this post today, but I still have things to share!

First, I do hope all my American friends had a fantastic Thanksgiving. I’m swimming in leftovers and not sorry about it!

Second, this week I shared one of the things I’m thankful for and also how I answered another one of the hard questions my kids threw my way. I’d love to hear about the hard questions you’ve fielded from your children and grandchildren.

Now, without further ado, here’s the Happy List.

WINTER COAT

I’m toying with the idea of a new winter coat and the cut of this jacket by The North Face is so flattering. It also comes in all black and I saw it on the Dick’s Sporting Goods site.

You guys can tell Handy Husband I’m a size medium. Maybe a large. Gah! That’s not helpful.

SOUND REDUCING DRYWALL

I’m living in an old house that is light on insulation and the sounds sure do travel. On the plus side, I always know when a herd of elephants my children are going up and down the stairs.

It was super interesting to read this review by Sawdust Girl of a sound reducing drywall that you can install over your existing drywall. No need for demo!

OREO BALLS

If you’re going to a cookie exchange or just inviting me over for dessert, why not try these 3 ingredient Oreo Balls by I Heart Naptime?

DIY SNOWGLOBE NECKLACE

This is a super cute DIY necklace and would be a fun gift or activity for a holiday party.

Who wants to make me one? Pretty please?!

The tutorial by Jen and Shannon at Eat. Sleep. MAKE. includes how to get that teeny tiny tree in the jar. The tutorial can be found at one of my favorite site’s The 36th Avenue.

SNOWGLOBE ART

This is a fun idea by Thrifty Decor Chick! I’m wondering if I could come up with an inexpensive mini version for my son’s class party?

Check out her blog to see how she added the snow and the total cost for the project. Hint – it was cheap!

PEG DOLLS

I love handmade gifts, especially from my kids, so I asked my daughter to paint me our family on wooden peg dolls for Christmas. I ordered these unfinished wooden peg dolls from Amazon for $12.99 and she’s  happy as a clam!

I’m not sure her version will be quite as detailed as this example from Glue Paper Scissor Shop on Etsy, but it will be cherished and unique!

CLING WRAP TIP

WHAT?!?!?! Did you guys know this?

DIY CHRISTMAS TREE BOX

Be still my Christmas loving heart. Check out this Christmas tree box stand!

Kristen at Ella Claire Inspired made it! And she has a step-by-step tutorial if you want to make one for me too.

SOMETHING TO PONDER

“People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason why the world is in chaos, is because things are being loved and people are being used.” – unknown

Happy Friday! Enjoy your day!
