Live Around the World
Would you do it?
Would you live a nomadic lifestyle for a season?
A couple of months here, a couple of months there?
I’d like to think I would if I could – if we didn’t have kids in school and both of us could telecommute.
An article in my Stumbleupon feed caught my eye recently when it introduced the idea of signing a lease that lets you live around the world. What an unique concept for a business.
The company is called Roam. According to their website, “$500 per week per room gives you access to incredible co-living spaces and local communities around the world. Come and go as you please.”
It appears they have three sites available now with two more coming soon.
The only part I’m not sure about, for me, is the “communal living” aspect. It could be really awesome or really not awesome. I do like the idea of coming to a new place though and having a built-in community ready to embrace you. It would easier to figure out the best places to shop, eat, visit and the best ways to get around your new area.
I think this business idea has potential. I wish I would have thought of it. Maybe when we retire we could do this and write our memoirs from happy places like the beaches of Bali or a cafe in Madrid. It’s fun to dream, isn’t it?
P.S. All images from the Roam website. Roam has no idea who I am, I just thought this concept was cool.
