Festive Metal Christmas Signs

I was searching for Christmas mantel inspiration in October while knee-deep in pumpkins and apple-everything, as one does. I can seasonally multitask with the best of them. During this search, I discovered the most festive metal Christmas signs.

Oh, the world of possibility!

This banner-style sign from Pottery Barn was the first one to catch my eye. Partly because I thought it was wood and partly because I thought maybe I could pair it with a wood dove sign I have trouble styling. (I’ll show you the dove at the end of this post.)

The $109 price tag is more than I normally spend on all of my Christmas decor in any given year though, so I wondered if I could make something similar for less.

The jury is still out on that, but this wondering also led me down the rabbit hole of metal Christmas sign inspiration, so here are the other signs that caught my eye. You’ll have to let me know which one is your favorite.

Round Merry Christmas Sign | Etsy

This varies in size from 14 inches to 39 inches! Think of the impact a 39-inch round sign could have!

It also comes in black and silver. I think you could use it as a front door wreath or hang it over your mantel. It would also make a great photo backdrop for a party.

Cast Metal Merry Christmas Sign | Magnolia

Of course, we can count on Magnolia to make the classiest Christmas sign. Those colors are perfect. It is 13 inches wide.

Large Merry Christmas Sign | Amazon

This sign is 48 inches wide, which means it has so many options for use outside of your home.

Someone needs this sign for a photo backdrop at their church so families can take a holiday photo together! It would also be a festive backdrop for Santa photos or holiday party photos. I can also see it in a business lobby.

Freestanding Metal Trees | Etsy

Not technically a sign, but they are metal and cool as a snowman in December.

These come in 12″, 15″, and 18″ sizes, but if you want a custom size, they’ll do that from their shop in Missouri.

Magnetic Merry Mail Card Holder | Etsy

Such a fun idea for displaying holiday cards! This sign is customizable in color and size. It is made in Wrens, Georgia.

I don’t send Christmas cards any longer, but I do like to receive them. Such a double standard, I know.

Metal Snowglobe | Etsy

This metal snowglobe comes in different sizes up to 36 inches! It also comes in copper, red, white, black, and silver. It would look amazing indoors or outdoors. Ships from Lafayette, Louisiana.

There Was a Girl | Walmart

This was too cute and made me laugh. “It was me. The end.”

It’s 8×12 inches, so not too big. Perfect size to throw in an envelope and send to your favorite cat lover.

Over the Door Sign | Etsy

It’s pretty cool that you can request for this metal sign to hang on the left or right side and they’ll cut it and put the hanging hardware on the correct side.

This would look fun over a door, mantel, shelf, or headboard.

Ornate Metal Tree | Etsy

This one made me suck in my breath a little. Do you know all the places it could go?

Vintage Christmas Sign | Etsy

Vintage-y perfection. This vintage-inspired Christmas sign ships out of Lizton, Indiana.

Hope Metal Yard Sign | Etsy

I’ve seen a similar hope sign on Amazon where each letter is on individual stakes. This version made in Louisiana seems much sturdier as it is all one piece.

I realized that metal Christmas signs have a few perks other than being super cool.

First, they don’t have to be fluffed like a fake wreath. Second, they don’t drop needles like a real wreath. Third, they store flat. Fourth, they should last forever. Last, some of them, like that mail one are even practical. Love that.

Which metal Christmas sign was your favorite? I’d love to know. I wouldn’t ask otherwise! You can always comment on this blog post, email me here, or reach out via Instagram or Facebook.

Happy Christmas Decorating!

P.S. I promised I’d show you my dove sign.

I made this out of scrap wood when we lived in Georgia and had a specific place for it to go. I still love it, but I have a hard time styling it in this house because my fireplaces are bigger now. The scale is all off.
