Hi! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I am absolutely thrilled that you are here.
This week on the blog, I shared the makeover I gave to a recent roadside find, and then I shared the makeover I’m thinking about giving our sunporch. The plants are taking over that space and need to be corralled.
It truly makes my day to connect with you. I work alone. It’s fun to talk to kind and interesting people. If you want to reach out, please comment on this blog post or email me here. You can also direct message me on Instagram or Facebook.
Here’s the Happy List!
CEILING WITH A VIEW
The wallpaper treatment in this bedroom by House Seven Design is absolutely charming. Kudos to the wallpaper installer because I’m sure the kink in their neck from this installation was real.
If you enjoy this room, the entire house is chock full of inspiration.

DRIED FLOWERS
It’s still winter (master of the obvious here), but I’m looking ahead to spring and all things flowers.
These dried flower cards that you can purchase from The Flower Studio by Heidi Baker would look so lovely in a frame without glass.

LETTERS AGAINST ISOLATION
If you love sending letters and cards and are looking for a volunteer opportunity, check out Letters Against Isolation.
You can sign up to send letters to seniors in care homes to help brighten a stranger’s day. Learn more about how it works here.

MOLLY GUARD
A molly guard is the protective plastic cover over a REALLY important button. It’s the physical manifestation of think twice before you act.
It is commonly accepted that a molly guard is named after an actual person. To quote Wikipedia, “Originally a Plexiglas cover improvised for the Big Red Switch on an IBM 4341 mainframe after a programmer’s toddler daughter (named Molly) tripped it twice in one day.”
The Unsung blog explains that reverse molly guards are buttons that will press themselves if you don’t do anything, and they can be equally as important. Think of that pop-up that says “your computer will shut down in 59 seconds” if you don’t cancel it or the automatic update on your phone. They reduce friction in our lives. Learn more here.

WRAPPED ROCKS
Wrapping rocks with colorful string in intricate patterns? This seems like my kind of craft. What would I do with them? No clue. Would I have fun making them? Most assuredly.
I’ve been spending time on the Curious Crone website learning how to wrap rocks, weave on rocks, and gleaning inspiration.

STAINLESS STEEL CUTTING BOARDS
Question for the group. Are you using a stainless steel cutting board for meat? Is this what we’re supposed to be doing now? Please advise.
I stumbled across this stainless steel cutting board. I’ve never used one, and I don’t remember seeing anyone else use one.

FAUX CHOCOLATE BUNNIES
Maryjo from Master Pieces of My Life made faux chocolate bunnies. They look so real, my kids would be disappointed that they were fake. Ha!
Get the tutorial here. Easter is April 5, 2026.

KOREAN BEEF BULGOGI
I’m on a recipe kick from Damn Delicious, which is a great website name. Last week, I made the Korean Beef Nachos. This week, I plan to make her Korean Beef Bulgogi if I can find meat on sale. I meal plan around what’s on sale or what’s in the freezer. I can’t be the only one!

POETRY MOMENT
For those of you missing someone this week, may this poem bring you comfort.
A MEETING by Wendell Berry
In a dream I meet
my dead friend. He has,
I know, gone long and far,
and yet he is the same
for the dead are changeless.
They grow no older.
It is I who have changed,
grown strange to what I was.
Yet I, the changed one,
ask: “How you been?”
He grins and looks at me.
“I been eating peaches
off some mighty fine trees.”
Thank you for reading this week’s Happy List.
Be good to yourself and others this weekend.
I’ll see you back here on Monday.
