The Sweetest Thing He Did For Me Recently
Do you ever look at your spouse or partner and think about how lucky you are?
Especially now that I’m older and wiser, I know how young and dumb we were when we got married and how easily things could have turned out differently.
I was recently reminded, again, how lucky and grateful I am to be sharing this one beautiful life I have with Handy Husband.
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, we are at the age where routine colonoscopies are a thing now. Yay? Yay.
I had my first one last week.
After living with me for almost 25 years, Handy Husband knows all of my irrational quirks.
The procedure itself didn’t phase me. Drinking enough laxatives to make an elephant beg for mercy did not phase me. But ask me to fast for over 24 hours and you’d think the world had come to an end.
Not eat? Willingly? Can we not think of a better way to prepare for a medical procedure?
As I was lamenting how “tragic” this was going to be Handy Husband asked, “Would you like me to fast with you?”
I’d like you to think that I am mature and gracious enough to decline his offer because who wants their partner to suffer alongside them by voluntarily fasting for 24 hours?
But, clearly, I am not that person.
I jumped on his offer faster than you could snatch the last piece of bacon off the plate.
Misery really does love company.
And he REALLY must love me.
Wasn’t his offer to fast with me the sweetest thing? It did make the experience a little less traumatic…probably for both of us. Haha!
Handy Husband celebrates a birthday soon and I can think of no better way to celebrate him than by bragging about him a little. He’s everything to me.
Happy birthday, Handy Husband!
P.S. Before you think Handy Husband’s altruism knows no bounds, please know that he drew the line at drinking a bottle of Miralax with me. Even I know that’s one flush too many.
P.P.S. If you’d like to send Handy Husband a birthday wish, please feel free to comment below, email us here, or reach out via Instagram or Facebook. I’ll make sure he gets your message.
Thank you for being here today and following along with our lives and projects. We appreciate it. Here are some other blog posts you might enjoy.
