Happy List: #57
There are people on social media complaining about “47 days of January” and I’m thinking to myself “how did January fly by so fast?” I think I’ll stick with my perception of reality because even if I don’t like it, it will be over quick!

On Wednesday I wrote about our experience visiting The Louvre in Paris. It was busy – so busy. However, it was amazing to be in the presence of such masterpieces.

THEY MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY
Figure skaters are incredible athletes. Absolutely incredible. They make skating look so easy and graceful.
Anyone who has ever taken their kids ice skating knows it isn’t. Ouch!

A FUN CONSOLE TABLE DISPLAY
I have a sudden urge to collect green books. Anyone else?
The honeycomb console table is from World Market and it’s over half off right now – $139 last I checked. They call is a shelf and actually show it displayed vertically rather than horizontally. Just goes to show…you don’t have to use a piece as it was originally intended.
DREAMING OF WARM WEATHER
I’ve heard a few different Irish people say on a particularly cold morning, “It’s absolutely BALTIC today!”
They have a way with words. And the best accent.
The one thing getting me through the cold winter is dreaming of sandal weather.
These blue Birkenstocks are on my wishlist. I already have a black pair in this style and LOVE them. I think the blue would round out my wardrobe though.
If I purchase them now and can’t wear them for months will it torture me?
I wrestle with the big questions, folks.
KITCHEN IDEAS
I enjoy black cabinets in a kitchen – a lot.
However, what I want to point out in this photo is how lovely the vent hood is with the white and wood combination. A simple and elegant solution.
Also, if your cabinets run into a weird beam they solved that problem nicely with trim.

I know it’s not as simple as this for victims of abuse, but the judge’s words in this case moved me.
