Happy List: #226

Hello and welcome to the Happy List! How is September treating you? I hope it is off to a good start.

My kids are back in in-person school and it has been weird not having them here since they’ve been remotely schooled for the past year and a half. My brain is like, “We can focus on one thing at a time now?”

This week on the blog I shared my summer thrift store finds and the brass leg tips I made for our blanket ladder. I hope you enjoyed those posts!

If you aren’t following along with us on Instagram or Facebook stories, I invite you to hang out with us there. There’s usually something going on around these parts! Also, if you create something I should see, please tag me! I love to see your ideas come to life!

Here’s the Happy List!

GLASS WALLS

I’ve always thought it would be awesome for my piano to be situated in a room with windows for walls.

I could have this room too…if only I could cough up $21.5 million to buy it. This is Frank Sinatra’s former home in California and it is for sale!

More details about the home can be found here.

P.S. If we had $21.5 million we’d be retired and living the tropical life.

HEART HERD

If you haven’t seen this heart created by a herd of sheep yet, go check out the video.

It was so satisfying to watch and the reason it was created was so touching.

BUILT-IN WARDROBE

We have lived in two homes with built-in wardrobes and I really enjoyed having that feature, especially the drawers.

See more pictures of this home by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design here.

CATS AND DOMINO

I’m not a cat video person and yet I was mesmerized by this video. I have NO idea how this video was made. I don’t know how you get cats to cooperate. Just watch it.

If the video doesn’t load, here’s the direct link.

HAIR TIE BRACELETS

These hair ties from Soulvation that look like bracelets are a good idea if you’re in the habit of keeping a hair tie around your wrist.

ALARM CLOCK

Just got this alarm clock for the kids because one of them insists on getting up at 5 a.m. so they aren’t rushed to get ready for school.

Finding an alarm clock that looks good is harder than I thought it would be, but I liked this one and it comes in different colors. Plus, it was only $12.

However, we are still working on the “hearing the alarm clock so your mom doesn’t have to yell at you because she can hear the alarm clock you aren’t turning off” situation. I’m sure we’ll get there sometime before the kids leave for college.

I hope.

WOODLAND FOX

Well, this pumpkin fox is the cutest.

I don’t think this would fit in my decor very well, but some of you could make this fox look darling in your home.

I don’t know how long Grandin Road will have them in stock, but if you’re artsy you could DIY it too.

They have an owl too and the tail feathers are THE BEST. There’s also a bear and a raccoon.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

“The habitual tendency when things get tough is that we protect ourselves, we get hard, we get rigid. But…that’s the time to soften and see how we might play or dance with the situation.”
– Jeff Bridges

Thank you for reading today’s Happy List!

Be good to yourself and others this weekend.

I’ll see you back here on Monday.
