Happy List: #116

Happy Good Friday and early Easter to you!

Do you celebrate Easter? We do, but we will be by ourselves this year.

On the plus side, more ham for me!

Speaking of Easter Dinner, the folks who work at our local grocery store are so, so nice and helpful. They pointed me in the direction of the best ham (flavor and price-wise) to buy for a small family dinner.Ā I felt like I was getting the insider’s scoop on what the employees buy because they were giving me all their tips for glazes and how to cook the ham.Ā It just goes to show that it doesn’t really matter what your job is – if you enjoy it, that enthusiasm is contagious.

This week I shared an Easter Egg Hunt for adults. If you invited me to one of these, I would definitely participate!

I also shared an original poem for Poem in Your Pocket Day.

Here’s the Happy List and it’s a good one!

COIL AND CROCHET BASKET

This is the happiest basket. It makes me smile!

A very detailed how-to on this basket can be found at My Poppet.

CABINET FEET

I’ve been reading Sarah’s blog, Thrifty Decor Chick, for YEARS. She always comes up with clever design solutions.

You have to check out what she used to make furniture feet for her kitchen cabinets. Plus, she shows you how she did it.

WALK ME HOME

I love the use of shadows in this video.

BLUE CEILING

This dark blue ceiling with gold flecks is so striking in this room.

More photos of this home can be found in this Traditional Home article.

FLAKY HONEY BRIOCHE BREAD

I’m pretty sure this recipe fromĀ The Half Baked Harvest is what has been missing from my life.

All of our lives.

OUTDOOR DINING CHAIRS

Now that the weather is warming up I am ready for outdoor dining. I sold my old outdoor dining chairs last year prior to our move back to the U.S. and all summer we either sat on camp chairs or hauled our regular dining chairs out onto the deck.

This year I won’t have to do that!

TheseĀ blue chairs from Target should be arriving on my doorstep any moment!

I purposefully chose armless chairs so that they will slide under our table nicely. The chairs come in other colors too. The only downside is that they are sold in a 4-pack and I need six.

HAPPY SINK

This is the happiest sink.

More pictures of this laundry room transformation can be found at Jungalow.

I LISTENED, I READ

This week…

I listened to this podcast about the War on Drugs and the lengths that officials went to to procure a baggie of crack that was shown in the Oval Office on national television by President George H.W. Bush.

I read this article about the country that banned food being dumped in landfills and now recycles 95% of its food waste. Holy cow cauliflower! That’s amazing.

Happy Friday and Happy Easter too!

P.S. I’d love it if you’d follow me on Pinterest or Instagram! And please tell your friends. Thanks a million billion gajillion.

P.P.S. This week on Instagram I shared a photo of Notre Dame from our visit to Paris, a favorite Easter photo, a fishery in Ireland, and more!

Easter to you and your family. It sounds like you will have a nice day. I’m not sure what we will do.

I like the basket. I could see your mom making that. Also love the chairs. You could get another set and sell two of the chairs.

I could get another set! I’m thinking about doing captain’s chairs instead. Ideally, I’d be able to find something thrifted. I hope you have a wonderful Easter too.
