9 Wood Knob and Pull Ideas For Your Cabinets
It is safe to say I like wood knobs and pulls. I have them in at least four places in our home. Some are painted. Some are stained.
I was painting a set of wood knobs a few weeks ago for the desks in our office and thought to myself, “Gosh, I really like wood knobs.”
And by “thought to myself” I mean I was talking out loud in that voice you reserve for babies and cute dogs and saying, “You look like a million bucks all painted! Yes, you do!”
Embarrassing gushing to inanimate objects aside, there is a certain charm to wood knobs and pulls.
I mainly think about them on a classic Shaker cabinet, but there are so many different ways wood can be used to create cabinet knobs and pulls.
Here are some great examples of wood knobs and pulls from around this creative, gorgeous world of ours:
This Portland, Oregon, home has an amazingly unique kitchen.
Did you know cup pulls can be made out of wood? If you didn’t, let this kitchen introduce you to how amazing they can be. You can see a closer picture of how this works here.

If you prefer the classic round wood knobs, but like them stained, you’ll love this kitchen.
Megan Miller added stained wood knobs to her vintage pantry cabinet. It’s so pretty. You can see more pictures of her kitchen with wood knobs here.

Wood pulls can fave a modern flare too.
The cabinets in this Brooklyn apartment have custom pulls in an L-shaped pattern. The precision required to get all four cabinet doors to line up just perfectly to achieve this look is off-the-charts. Don’t these look amazing? Such a statement-maker.

If you want to kill an hour, jump on Etsy and search for wood knobs and pulls. Don’t blame me if you completely redesign your entire house based on what you find. There’s so much inspiration to be found!
I couldn’t decide if these were modern or mid-century modern. Either way, they look gorgeous.

These brass and wood pulls, also from Etsy, looked so high-end to me. They have that perfect balance of warm yet sleek.
The smallest cabinet pulls are my favorite.

I can perfectly imagine these long wood handles on a wardrobe or closet doors. I wish we had the tools to make something like this more easily.

Those long wood handles from Etsy remind me a little of the wood handles we made for our refrigerator.
Love it or hate it, it’s not something you see in every kitchen. You can see how we did it here. The first one is easy. It’s making two more to match that is tricky.
I’ll finish with a picture from Devol’s Cotes Mills Showroom that shows painted wood knobs similar to those in our office. They use painted wood knobs often in their Shaker-style kitchen.
There isn’t a Devol Kitchen that doesn’t steal my heart.
