Antique Doorknob Christmas Trees
I knew I was saving antique doorknobs for something. I didn’t think it would be to make doorknob Christmas trees.
The magic and creativity of Christmas is neverending.
There is no need for me to write an elaborate tutorial on how to make antique doorknob Christmas trees because it’s pretty self-explanatory.
Borrow a tiny fake tree from your children’s toy stash. Model trees kids use to decorate dioramas for those dreaded class projects are perfect.
Stick the tiny fake tree in an antique doorknob. If your tree looks as if it’s blowing in the wind and won’t stand up straight you can wrap some tape or paper around the stem to make it fit tighter.
In addition, you could go wild and add a tiny bow to your tiny tree. Since you’re in for a penny, sprinkle some fake snow around like confetti. I’m not the Grinch. I won’t stop you.
When you’re done, enjoy your Christmas masterpiece preferably while eating a piece of Christmas candy. I recommend the Reese’s peanut butter trees because I like a theme and those are tasty.
They might even be calorie-free (in my imagination).
The hardest part of this entire Christmas craft…wait a second.
Can we call it a craft?
Seems like a stretch, but I’ll allow it.
The hardest part of this entire…situation is deciding where to put your doorknob Christmas trees.
They’d look lovely as a centerpiece on your table or kitchen island.
Speaking of kitchens, they’d be so festive in the window above a kitchen sink.
Have a shelf, sideboard, or hutch? Why, of course, these cute little doorknob Christmas trees would sprinkle Christmas cheer there too.
How about your desk at work? A doorknob Christmas tree would be a fantastic conversation starter. If you’re not the chatty type, definitely don’t take one to work. I don’t want you to turn into the Grinch.
As I see it, the only limit on places you can put your doorknob Christmas trees is how many antique or vintage doorknobs you’ve been hoarding.
What do you think of repurposing antique doorknobs in this way? Cute or not?
Let me know! Now’s not the time to be shy. You can always leave a comment on this blog post, email me here, or reach out via Instagram or Facebook.
Happy Christmas!
P.S. There are Christmas lights on my houseplant in the above pictures. Nothing is safe this year.
Thanks for hanging out with me today. If you enjoy upcycling or repurposing items for decor, here are three festive blog posts you might enjoy!
