Happy List: #252
Hello! Welcome to the Happy List. I hope you’ve had a terrific week. I also hope that reading this list every week is the teeny tiniest of bright spots for you! This week on the blog was unofficial Easter craft week. I shared the Easter Egg Embroidered Napkins that I made and the Wood-Burned Easter Eggs I created. If you’ve been trying new things as I have been lately, I’d love to see what you’ve created. Maybe we can inspire each other! A friendly reminder, if you see something you enjoy here, please share it with your friends. Eyeballs on website pages or on Instagram or Facebook help keep this blog trucking…
DIY Your Own Wood-Burned Easter Eggs
Here’s something you never knew you needed to make until now: Wood-Burned Easter Eggs. They are fun to make, will last forever, and you can even use them as place cards at your Easter table. I’m a wood-burning novice. Seriously, these wood-burned Easter eggs are my second wood-burning project ever. If I can try something new, so can you. All you need are wood eggs, a wood-burning kit, and your imagination. I like these 2 1/2-inch wood eggs from Amazon because they are a good natural egg size and don’t have a flat bottom. If you want your eggs to stand up on end, then you need to order eggs…
Easter Egg Embroidered Napkins
Here’s a relatively quick and customizable Easter craft for you – Easter Egg Embroidered Napkins. This is a fun way of adding some Easter flair to otherwise plain cloth napkins. Please note that I casually threw out the words ‘relatively quick’ when describing this project. Some of you have never touched embroidery thread. Some of you are probably hand-stitching pros and could do this project with your eyes closed. (If you can actually do this with your eyes closed, will you make a video for me?) On the embroidery spectrum, I’m a little closer to “never touched embroidery thread” than I am to being a professional. With my limited skills,…

Happy April Fool’s Day! Welcome to the Happy List! I hope the last week of March treated you well. This week on the blog I shared a round-up of brooms that will look good in anyone’s broom closet. I also shared the hacks I used to make sink skirts since I don’t use a sewing machine. When I’m not here on the blog I usually share a daily project or idea on Instagram and Facebook stories. I’d love it if you joined me there and please tell your friends too! Here’s the Happy List! PAPER ARTIST Artist Lisa Lloyd uses strips of paper to create the most amazing art of birds in motion. See…
Sink Skirt Hack If You Don’t Own a Sewing Machine
Who loves a good hack? *raises both hands* Today, I have a sink skirt hack for you if you don’t own a sewing machine or don’t want to use it. Either way, I totally understand. Sewing machines and I are not on good terms, so I go out of my way to avoid using one. Because I’m a giver, this blog post contains not one, but TWO sink skirt hacks. For the purposes of clarity, I’m defining a sink skirt as a skirt that covers the opening underneath a sink that might typically be covered by doors. If your situation is a little bit different than mine, these hacks should…
In Praise of Pretty Brooms
I’ve got pretty brooms on my mind today for one simple reason. I’m at the point in life where if I have to do a chore, I want the item assisting me with this chore to not only be functional but pretty too. That’s not too much to ask, is it? Frankly, it WAS too much to ask for ALL chores to be banished from my life. Don’t ask me how I know. So, I’m going for the next best thing – pretty brooms and pretty tools that are functional too. I recently purchased a classic broom with a black handle that blended in with my decor and didn’t make…
Happy List: #250
Hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! This week on the blog I shared an update to our teen’s room. The green wall sconce is my favorite addition to that space. I also shared the way I use a cake stand to keep our bathroom organized. Yes, I wrote bathroom and cake stand in one sentence. Nothing is sacred here. When I’m not here on the blog I usually share a daily project or idea on Instagram and Facebook stories. I’d love it if you joined me there and please tell your friends too! Eyeballs on pages legit helps this blog keep going! Here’s the Happy List! PRETTY IN PINK My goodness, this is…
Use a Cake Stand to Corral Bathroom Counter Clutter
Cake stands aren’t just for cake! Did you know you can use a cake stand to corral bathroom counter clutter? Many folks corral bathroom counter clutter using a basket or a tray, but a cake stand literally elevates this organizational issue. There are two reasons why I use a cake stand to corral bathroom counter clutter. First, cake stands are pretty! Simple as that. Second, using an elevated cake stand to corral bathroom counter clutter means you get additional storage space without sacrificing counter space. If you’ve ever had a small bathroom then you know the struggle of trying to get ready in the morning, but not having enough counter…
Spring-Themed Teen Bedroom and a Fun Wall Sconce
I’m so excited to share a spring-themed teen bedroom refresh with you. Even if you kissed those teenage years goodbye and good riddance a long time ago, there are some ideas in this teen bedroom that you might enjoy for your own home. Here’s how this teen bedroom looked the last time I shared it. Not a boy band poster to be found…thank goodness. When we installed a bedside wall sconce above our son’s headboard, our other kiddo wanted one too. This kiddo’s bedroom doesn’t have any overhead lights, so this was not an outrageous request. In fact, the only light in this room was that bedside lamp on the…

Hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! I hope you had a delightful St. Patrick’s Day! We ate green pasta with pesto, green beans, green jello, and had green punch for dinner that night. Sense a theme? Ha! This week on the blog I shared our wood deacon’s bench makeover. I also shared some common folklore from Ireland’s past to get us in the mood for St. Patrick’s Day. When I’m not hanging out on the blog I usually find time to share a project or idea on Instagram and Facebook stories. I’d love it if you joined me there and please tell your friends too! That really helps this blog keep going! Here’s…
