    Happy List: #294

Hello, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m delighted you’re here. This week on the blog I discussed a very niche quirk of old houses. Some old homes, like ours, have field stones or bricks in between the wood studs. These aren’t stone walls in the traditional sense. There’s nothing structural about these stones. In this blog post, I discuss why this might have been done. To keep things interesting around here, I also shared a blog post about how to reuse a Basmati rice bag. These burlap bags are awesome and too good to throw away! As always, I love hearing from you! It makes my day. It…

Hello! Welcome to today’s Happy List and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you have fun plans for your St. Patrick’s Day! We attended a parade last weekend and tonight we will be having all the green-colored foods for dinner. This week on the blog I shared a post all about basket walls. If you’ve been watching my Instagram stories you’ll know that I’ve had a go at making a mini basket wall. I also shared one of my favorite blog posts from the archives about the kindness of the Irish people. The people really are the best part of Ireland and I learned that firsthand while living there. But…

Hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m glad you’re here. This week on the blog I shared some recent photos of my home that made me smile. This old house of ours gives me a lot of heartburn, so I have to balance that out with moments of appreciation! I also shared my idea for creating a utility wall when you don’t have a closet to store all of your brooms, mops, vacuums, etc. I used to work for a national homebuilder and one of my roles was to provide input on new floorplans. My feedback was always “Where does the vacuum go?” Needless to say, utility space is…

Hello there! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m delighted you’ve joined this party. This week on the blog I shared another idea for keeping charging cords on your desk. What you can do with a little time, creativity, and a block of wood is amazing. I also shared my latest round-up of thrift store treasures that I found to decorate my home. I can get a lot of bang for my buck with a five-dollar bill! As always, I like connecting with you! It makes me smile. Please feel free to leave a comment or share this site with your friends. Hi! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. Can you believe February is almost over? This week on the blog I shared what I learned about rhododendrons. I’m a big fan of those flowers but still trying to decide if I plant more in our flowerbeds. I also shared my love story with bread. Or, if you want to be technical about it, the 4 bread recipes I bake on repeat around here. I hope you try them and enjoy them as much as we do. As always, I like connecting with you! It makes me smile. Please feel free to leave a comment or share this site with your friends.…

Basically, we spend a lot on a holiday we don’t particularly love. I also wrote a blog post about my current interest in watercolor greeting cards. I’ve made some of my own. I also found a bunch on Etsy that were amazing. Have you ever made your own greeting cards? It’s fun! As always, I like connecting with you! It makes me smile. Hi! Welcome to the Happy List! I shared a personal story about our wedding anniversary this week on the blog. We celebrated this milestone by chauffeuring our children to all the places they needed to go and then ordering Chinese food for dinner. Romantic, right? Ha! I also wrote about how to make a weighted cord holder using fabric, rice, and your wits to sew it all together. As always, I like connecting with you! Truly. Why, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m glad you’re here. This week I shared a story about a ladder. It wasn’t a story about climbing a ladder because I’m risk-averse when it comes to ladders and falling, but about beautifying a ladder. Someone’s got to do it. I also wrote about something that everyone’s clamoring to have these days, a wood sewing machine cover. I’m kidding. No one wants one, but if they read that blog post they just might see how cool they are! As always, I like connecting with you! Truly. Please feel free to leave a comment or share this site with your friends. You…

Hey, hey! Welcome to the Happy List! I hope you had a great week and are ready to read something fun and light-hearted. Let’s start by reminding you what was on the blog this week. On Monday, I shared 3 ideas on how to label your DIY furniture. If we don’t start labeling and documenting things, history will be lost. On Wednesday, I shared the first bracelet I’ve ever made – a wood heart bracelet. It’s important to me to make things I actually will use or wear and this craft fits that bill! As always, I like connecting with you! It makes this feel more like a conversation and…
