Happy List: #273
Hello! Welcome back to another thrilling edition of The Happy List. I’m glad you’re here. It was a crafty week on the blog. I guess I’ve been in the mood to make things! In case you missed it, this week on the blog I shared how to make a DIY embroidered vote t-shirt. I also shared how to make your own napkin rings out of wood acorns and beads. Yes, wood acorns are a thing and I’m obsessed with them. I’m hoping I work this out of my system soon, but I still have about six ideas of things I can make with the wood acorns. Thank you for sticking…
DIY Wood Acorn Napkin Rings
It’s fall, y’all. Let’s DIY some wood acorn napkin rings! Did you know wood acorns were a thing? Bless the woodworkers of the world for creating such a thing I never knew I needed and now can’t imagine living without. There are so many things you could create with wood acorns, but I chose to make napkin rings. Let me explain how you can make Wood Acorn Napkin Rings for your autumn table. Supplies you’ll need to DIY Wood Acorn Napkin Rings: wood acorns wood beads (a pack with varying bead sizes is helpful) elastic cord (I started out with a .5mm cord and that was prone to snapping. A…
DIY Embroidered Vote T-Shirt
Let’s get to a DIY today that involves two important things: embroidery and civic responsibility. Okay, one of those might be more important than the other. I’ll let you decide which is which. Now, let’s make a DIY embroidered vote t-shirt! Even if you’ve never picked up a needle and a thread, you can embroider a t-shirt. Here are the supplies you’ll need to make a DIY Embroidered Vote T-Shirt: t-shirt (if you aren’t sure how this will go, pick an old one you can practice on) needle (I used a regular sewing needle with a large eye) embroidery floss (you might hear it called embroidery thread) embroidery hoop (if you…
Happy List: #272
Hi! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m happy you’re here. This week on the blog I shared how we made our front door look bigger with paint and only paint. Our eye is easily tricked! I also shared how I Annisa-ified (That doesn’t really roll off the tongue, does it?) a set of slate coasters I earned with my own sweat and labored breathing after participating in a fun run. Not that I’m melodramatic or anything. Thank you for your continued support of this blog in all shapes and forms. Even engaging with us on Instagram or Facebook is important to us. Your support truly helps our family, helps restore this old…
How To Remove The Engraving On Slate Coasters
Slate coasters are popular gifts because they can be engraved with a personal or promotional message. But what if you want to remove the engraving on slate coasters? I can help with that. Our family recently completed a “fun” run together. If you have to put “fun” in the title of the event then it probably isn’t fun, but I digress. For completing the fun run we each received a promotional slate coaster with the name of the fun run engraved into the slate. I now had a set of 4 fun run slate coasters. They were a cool promotional gift, but not something I’d want to use in my…
How We Made Our Front Door Look Bigger With Paint
Let’s talk about how we made our front door look bigger with paint and only paint. Once again, the MVP of DIY saves the day. If you want to be all technical about it, I can concede the primary purpose of a front door is to allow access to a home. However, you and I know that the REAL purpose of a front door is to make a darn good impression on all the people who regularly see it like the Amazon driver, the UPS driver, and the FedEx driver. What?!? Am I hearing you correctly? Folks other than delivery people come to your house. Regularly?!? Huh. You must be…

Why, hello! Welcome to this week’s Happy List. I’m delighted you are here. This week on the blog I went shopping and found some seriously Fun Fall Finds. It doesn’t feel like fall where we live yet, but I can sure make it look like fall inside my house…by sheer force of will and a little online shopping. Also on the blog, I shared how a small peg rail has added so much functionality and style to our kitchen. Thank you for your continued support of this blog in all ways, shapes, and forms. Even engaging with us on Instagram or Facebook is important to us. Your support truly helps our family, helps…
Kitchen Peg Rail Adds So Much Functionality
We recently added a small kitchen peg rail to the end of our cabinets and I swear angels sang the Hallelujah Chorus when we finished installing it. This kitchen peg rail added a surprising amount of functionality and, dare I say, style to our kitchen. I didn’t take a true “before” picture of the peg rail, but I found it at the thrift store for $2. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that we live in a time and age where $2 doesn’t even buy you a cup of coffee in most places. I could not buy the materials to make a small kitchen peg rail for $2,…
Fun Fall Finds That Will Last Through Thanksgiving
I went online shopping for a friend’s birthday and ended up seeing a bunch of Fun Fall Finds that I liked for me instead. Gosh, I’m easily distracted. And now I’m about to distract you! You’re welcome. Here are the Fun Fall Finds that inspired me this month and really got my creative wheels turning for this fall season. Fun Fall Finds: Neutral Wreath I’m a sucker for things made out of wheat stalks. I wonder how hard it was to make this wreath? It’s gorgeous with all the varied textures. The other thing that would look pretty in a wreath like this is feathers! (image: Hearts Desire Floral via…

Hi! Welcome to this week’s Happy List! I’m glad you’re here. This week on the blog I shared 5 fun facts about Labor Day. I hope you were able to enjoy your Labor Day holiday. On Wednesday I shared how our landscaping survived a hot, dry summer. I’m happy to inform you it has rained multiple days this week, so our grass is back in business. In other words, it’s green again! Thank you for your continued support of this blog in all ways, shapes, and forms. Even engaging with us on Instagram or Facebook is important to us.
